2 Days In Muscle Shoals by Leslie Satcher And The Electric Honey Badgers

I am starting off my morning and my 902nd review with an amazing album by Leslie Satcher and the Electric Honey Badgers called 2 Days In Muscle Shoals released March 9, 2018.  Along with Leslie Satcher and her powerful vocals, this band also features James LeBlanc on guitars and vocals, Jim “Moose” Brown on Hammond B3 & Wurlitzer piano, David Hood on bass, Heidi Newfield on harmonica, and Tommy Hardin & Jon Davis on drums.  I enjoyed this mixture of blues, spiritual and a bit of a country sound on such tracks as Run It Down South (with Trisha Yearwood), This Won’t Take Long (with Vince Gill and Sheryl Crow), Waitin’ On The Sun To Shine, Deep Water Woman and so much more.  I was impressed with Leslie’s songwriting abilities since she wrote or co-wrote every song on this album, also how well this album was performed, recorded and produced.  I am looking forward to hearing more from this band.  I highly recommend that you take a listen to this album on Spotify, then purchase this album from Amazon, CD Baby, Itunes and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.

20th Century Bastards by The Deadites

For my 899th review, I present the 2017 album 20th Century Bastards, a compilation album by the Deadites.  20th Century Bastards is a collection of songs spanning the years of 1993 through 2017.  These songs appeared on compilation soundtracks with a dash of unreleased material.  Members of this band are Dynamo Marz, Tiny Wright, Oracle, and Donna Matrix.   Listening to this album the music was different from music I have heard before and I was impressed with such tracks as It’s No Good, The Night To Me, Shadow, and their rendition of the Phil Collins classic I Wish It Would Rain Down.  This album was well recorded and performed.  Right now this album is only available at live performances such as The Trick Or Treat Radio Masquerade Extravaganza on October 12, 2018 at the Cove Music Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts and at Rock & Shock on October 12 thru October 14 2018 at the Palladium and DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.

No Answer by Dusan Jevtovic

Acoustic Dreams by Jon Magnusson

For my 897th review, I present my third review for singer/songwriter Jon Magnusson titled Acoustic Dreams. For this great album, he left behind the electronic guitars, drums, and all other electronic instruments. Instead, he uses a fingerpicked acoustic guitar as the main attraction, supported by some orchestral arrangement with such great tracks as The Street Where I Was Born, Lust For Life, Your Dreams and more.  This five track EP was well performed, recorded and produced.   To get your digital copy of “Acoustic Dreams EP” or for any other inquiries, please get in touch directly with Jon Magnusson via e-mail jon.magnusson@hotmail.se,

VHS by Dr. Chrispy

VHS is the upcoming album by the award-winning aeronautical engineer, music producer and songwriter Dr. Chrispy (AKA Dr. Chris Boshulzen), scheduled for release on September 14, 2018, on the Interplanetary Records label.  VHS is a collection of instrumental tracks which were written at different locations and titles with the name of a city, airport code, or local attraction from his many travels such as Sleeping in Tokyo, Blue Sky Line, Goodbye Shanghai, Vancouver and so much more. Chris spent nearly every spare moment writing this music on the one instrument he always had with him: his laptop at airports or on planes. This album has great vocals, and instrumentation that is brought by fellow musicians and was well written, recorded, performed and produced.  I found this to be a great relaxing album with a touch of jazz and will be available in September from Amazon, Bandcamp and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
