I am starting off my morning and my 902nd review with an amazing album by Leslie Satcher and the Electric Honey Badgers called 2 Days In Muscle Shoals released March 9, 2018. Along with Leslie Satcher and her powerful vocals, this band also features James LeBlanc on guitars and vocals, Jim “Moose” Brown on Hammond B3 & Wurlitzer piano, David Hood on bass, Heidi Newfield on harmonica, and Tommy Hardin & Jon Davis on drums. I enjoyed this mixture of blues, spiritual and a bit of a country sound on such tracks as Run It Down South (with Trisha Yearwood), This Won’t Take Long (with Vince Gill and Sheryl Crow), Waitin’ On The Sun To Shine, Deep Water Woman and so much more. I was impressed with Leslie’s songwriting abilities since she wrote or co-wrote every song on this album, also how well this album was performed, recorded and produced. I am looking forward to hearing more from this band. I highly recommend that you take a listen to this album on Spotify, then purchase this album from Amazon, CD Baby, Itunes and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
For my 901st review, I am proud to announce the fourth studio album Screaming Vibrations by the Canadian rockers Damn Pigeon released July 21, 2018. This amazing band consisting of Joe Edmiston on guitars, keyboards and vocals, Steve Proctor on guitars and vocals, Doug Weir on guitars and lead vocals, Jason Latimer on drums, and Steve Proud on bass and vocals. I first heard this band on an independent online radio show and became a fan right away. This ten track album with powerful vocals, heavy guitar riffs, and driving drum beats contains such great songs as the title track Screaming Vibrations, Time Forgets Your Name (a great ballad), Unsane, Hell Yeah and so much more. I enjoyed this album from start to finish and was impressed by how well this album was written, recorded and performed. I am looking forward to hearing their first three albums so I can see the growth of this band over the years. Please take a listen to this album on Spotify and I know you will like the album and that you will want to purchase this great album from Amazon, Itunes, CD Baby, Bandcamp and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
The winner of my 900th music review contest is none other than Four Trips Ahead, a melodic New York hard rock band and their latest album And The Fire Within, a March 10, 2017 album on HiFi Records which features great guitar riffs, powerful vocals, and high energy drumming. This great band consists of Peter Wilson on lead vocals, Brian Eisenpresser on guitars, Dan Cassidy on bass and Ken Candelas on drums. I feel you will like this one so much that you will want to purchase this album from CD Baby, Amazon, Itunes and everywhere that CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
For my 899th review, I present the 2017 album 20th Century Bastards, a compilation album by the Deadites. 20th Century Bastards is a collection of songs spanning the years of 1993 through 2017. These songs appeared on compilation soundtracks with a dash of unreleased material. Members of this band are Dynamo Marz, Tiny Wright, Oracle, and Donna Matrix. Listening to this album the music was different from music I have heard before and I was impressed with such tracks as It’s No Good, The Night To Me, Shadow, and their rendition of the Phil Collins classic I Wish It Would Rain Down. This album was well recorded and performed. Right now this album is only available at live performances such as The Trick Or Treat Radio Masquerade Extravaganza on October 12, 2018 at the Cove Music Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts and at Rock & Shock on October 12 thru October 14 2018 at the Palladium and DCU Center in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Two Lane Town is the fourth studio album and July 28, 2018 release by Kentucky native, and Nashville recording artist J. D. Shelburne on his own label. I am impressed with J. D’s voice and delivery of a song. Among the great tracks on this nine song album are Born For This, Good Ol’ Boy Good Time, Young Again, Superman and much more. I enjoyed this album from start to finish and was impressed with his songwriting abilities ( he co-wrote five out of the nine songs on this album, and how well this album was recorded, produced and performed. You can purchase this great album from Amazon, CD Baby and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold. Thank you Jeremy Westby and everyone at 2911 Media for the allowing me to review this fine album.
For my 898th review, I present the June 10, 2017 release from Barcelona based guitarist/songwriter Dusan Jevtovic on the Moonjune Records label. Dusan released the new album called No Answer, with Vasil Hadzimanov on piano, fender rhodes and mini moog, and Asaf Sirkis on drums and provides scorching jazz fusion rides and plenty of fleet fretboard work on such tracks as the title track No Answer, Lifetime (which is the rocking number) on this album, Prayer, El Oro (which has a taste of swing) and much more. I was impressed with how well this album was written, performed, recorded and produced. This release is available from Amazon, Itunes and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
For my 897th review, I present my third review for singer/songwriter Jon Magnusson titled Acoustic Dreams. For this great album, he left behind the electronic guitars, drums, and all other electronic instruments. Instead, he uses a fingerpicked acoustic guitar as the main attraction, supported by some orchestral arrangement with such great tracks as The Street Where I Was Born, Lust For Life, Your Dreams and more. This five track EP was well performed, recorded and produced. To get your digital copy of “Acoustic Dreams EP” or for any other inquiries, please get in touch directly with Jon Magnusson via e-mail email@example.com,
For my 896th review, I present Art And Popain, an upcoming album by John Humphrey Coconut, a singer/songwriter from Barcelona Spain. This album of new songs between rock, blues, and colorful pop is to be released on August 24, 2018, on the Giant Pulse Records label. Among the great tracks on this album are Every Night And Every Day, Spring of Freedom, The Fabulous Catandog and much more. This album was well written, recorded and performed and totally a different sound. Please take a listen to this album on youtube and then you will want to purchase it from Amazon and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
VHS is the upcoming album by the award-winning aeronautical engineer, music producer and songwriter Dr. Chrispy (AKA Dr. Chris Boshulzen), scheduled for release on September 14, 2018, on the Interplanetary Records label. VHS is a collection of instrumental tracks which were written at different locations and titles with the name of a city, airport code, or local attraction from his many travels such as Sleeping in Tokyo, Blue Sky Line, Goodbye Shanghai, Vancouver and so much more. Chris spent nearly every spare moment writing this music on the one instrument he always had with him: his laptop at airports or on planes. This album has great vocals, and instrumentation that is brought by fellow musicians and was well written, recorded, performed and produced. I found this to be a great relaxing album with a touch of jazz and will be available in September from Amazon, Bandcamp and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
For my 894th review, I present the debut album by the Tommy Paris Band. Tommy Paris is a singer/songwriter that is known prominently as lead vocalist/guitarist for the platinum band Britny Fox. This great album caught my attention with the track Down Down and continued with Ready To Bleed, Make It Fit, 4 On The Floor, U Lose, Universe and so much more. I was very impressed by how well this album was written, performed, recorded and produced. This impressive debut is a sign of things to come from Tommy as a solo artist. Please take a listen to this album on Spotify and you will want to purchase this great release from Itunes, Amazon and all outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
