Experimental Truth by Dallas Perkins

Experimental Truth is the latest instrumental album by progressive rock guitarist Dallas Perkins released July 30, 2022. The Other Side Of Time by Mary Fahl

Today was a great mail day for me with an excellent package from singer-songwriter Mary Fahl.  I was anxious to start from the beginning with The Other Side of Time the debut solo album from the American singer-songwriter Mary Fahl, released on May 27, 2003, via the Sony Odyssey label.  Upon researching this album I found out Mary performed the theme song to one of my favorite films Gods and Generals with the song Going Home on this album.  This fourteen-track album features so many great songs such as In The Great Unknown, Paolo, the title track The Other Side Of Time, The Dawning Of The Day (which was written in honor of the firefighters who died in the September 11 attacks) and so much more.  I was very impressed and moved by her powerful but beautiful voice, her amazing songwriting talent, her superb performance, and her spectacular job of recording and production.  I recently listened to and reviewed her latest album Can’t Out Of My Head and wanted to hear her earlier work to hear her growth as a performer and a songwriter. Shadows In A Jar by Life On Mars

Shadows In A Jar is the sixth studio album, and next installment of the Life on Mars series from Earl Kayoss and an array of talent including Fernando Perdomo (my fourteenth review including this artist) scheduled for release on November 18, 2022. Kayoss and Perdomo have been working for 8 years to deliver this remarkable project.  Earl Kayoss, a prolific songwriter, wrote all the songs on the album. Joining Kayoss and Fernando Perdomo on the album are Billy Sherwood (Yes) and Denny Seiwell (McCartney and Wings). This thirteen-track album features such works as Ego, Stray Dog, She’s Already Gone, Only One, the title track Shadows In A Jar and so much more.  In addition to an amazing performance, this album shows the great songwriting talents of Earl Kayoss, brilliant musicianship, and a superb job of recording and production.  This is definitely an album you will want to listen to that will be available on CD and digital download from Cherry Red Records, Amazon, Spotify, and many other music retailers.

Let’s Go by The Hungry Williams

Let’s Go is the September 8, 2022 album by the Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based band The Hungry Williams featuring bandleader and drummer John Carr, bassist Mike Sieger, lead vocalist Kelli Gonzalez, guitarist/vocalist Joe Vent, and keyboardist Jack Stewart.  To round out the sound on this album, they enlisted their favorite sax players Jason Goldsmith on tenor sax and Casimir Riley on baritone sax. This ten-track album incorporates the great blues sound with a little New Orleans sound thrown in on such tracks as Mardi Gras Day, Movin’  On, Boss Man, Then I’ll Believe, Gee Baby and so much more.  I was quite moved by the performance on this album with outstanding vocals, great musicianship, and creative songwriting talent in addition to a superb job of recording and production.  I recommend that you take a listen to this album and see if you are as impressed as I am it is available on CD and digital download from Amazon, Apple Music, and many other music retailers.   To learn more about this band and their music, go to their official website https://hungrywilliams.com/

Smile by The Wide

My third review of this morning is the upcoming album by Monchengladbach Germany indie alternative rock band The Wide offers the album Smile which is scheduled for release on October 28, 2022, via the Fastball Music Records label.  The lineup for this band features Kurt Schmidt on bass, mellotron, guitars, and strings, Pete Brough on vocals, guitars, and piano, Hermann Eugster on drums and Roo Hobbers and Sebastian Kuhl on guitars.  This ten-track album features such great work as I Believe, the title track Smile, See The Light, Golden Blunder, Anything and so much more.  I was impressed with this album with a great mixture of songs from uptempo (some having that classic Billy Idol sound) to ballads both in an electric and acoustic style.  This album also features a brilliant performance, spectacular songwriting talent, and superb job of recording and production.  I am definitely looking forward to hearing more from this great band.  This album will be available on CD and digital download from Fastball Music and many other retailers.

Sense Of by DevilsBridge

After the release of various singles and the EP “Endless Restless” in 2020, it is finally here. Sense Of is the debut full album by Switzerland’s melodic metal band DevilsBridge scheduled for release on October 28, 2022, on the Fastball Music Records label.  The lineup of this amazing band comprises of Steven Drt on bass, Vany Shade on guitar, Dani Nell on vocals, Tom White on guitar, and JC Daisy on drums.  This twelve-track offering features powerful vocals and brilliant musicianship on such tracks as Illusion, Perfection, 7th Sense, Death, Time and so much more.  I was quite impressed with their hard-driving sound, spectacular performance, creative songwriting talent, and superb job of recording and production on this album.  I am looking forward to hearing a lot more from this band.  This album will be available on CD and digital download from Fastball Music and many other music retailers. The Suicidal Theatre Company by Bonzo Fimbres

The Suicidal Theatre Company is the August 10, 2022, EP by Bonzo Fimbres in which he showcases his talent as a songwriter and a solo artist.  In fact, he plays all the instruments on this album. This is my second review of this amazing artist, my last being for the 2019 album Combative Life in this album you can see his growth as a songwriter and performer on this five-track offering which features the tracks Levitating Man, the title track The Suicidal Theatre Company, Particula De Dios, Starmaker, and Critical Mass.  I am very impressed with the work on this album, especially when everything is done by one person, the performance, the songwriting, the recording and production, and everything else that is done on this album.  You can check out this album which is available on CD and digital download from Bandcamp and other music retailers.

Double Exposure by Vinnie Moore

Double Exposure is the follow-up to Vinnie Moore’s  2019 “SOUL SHIFTER” which will be released on November 8th on his Mind’s Eye Music label. Vinnie is joined by singers Ed Terry (Rage And Beyond, American Mafia), Keith Slack (MSG, Mother Road), Mike DiMeo (Riot), and Brian Stephenson (Old James) on this half-vocal half-instrumental album. This is his first solo release that features vocals. Band members include Richie Monica (Billy Cox, Papa Chubby, Tantric) on drums, Michael Bean and Pete Griffin (Steve Vai, Dweezil Zappa) on Bass, John Cassidy on Keyboards, and John Pessoni on Drums.  Vinnie has released ten solo albums and six albums and a LIVE DVD with rock icons UFO, and is considered to be one of the originators of shred guitar and on this twelve-track album, he continues to impress us with his amazing guitar talent with such tracks as Vertical Horizon, Paid My Dues, River Flow, Astro Man, Southern Highway and so much more.  This is my third review involving the work of Vinnie and I enjoyed this album from start to finish with a brilliant performance, fantastic songwriting talent, and a superb job of recording and production.  This is definitely an album you will want to add to your library which will be available in November on CD and digital download from Apple Music, Amazon, and many other music retailers as well as from his official website where you can find out more about this artist, his tour schedule and music by going to his website http://www.vinniemoore.com

Heartsonic by Magical Heart

Magical Heart, a hard rock,  heavy metal band from Munich, released their sophomore album Heartsonic on 7th October 2022 on the Fastball Music Records label.  The current band lineup is Chris Urner (vocals, guitar), Patrick Schuster (guitar), Robert Frenz (bass, backing vocals), and Guiliano-Pepe Müller (drums).  This eleven-track album which features powerful vocals and driving guitar riffs and great harmonies has already released two singles Take Your Time and Magical Star as well as other notable tracks such as the title track Heartsonic, My Own Way, How Will The Story End, I Could Go Own (Forever) and so much more.  I enjoyed this album from start to finish and this album reminds me a lot of the music I listened to in the eighties.   I was impressed with this album’s performance, songwriting talent, and superb recording.  I highly recommend this album to your rock library and I would love to hear their first album to see their growth.  This fantastic album is available on CD and digital download from Bandcamp, Apple Music, Fastball Music, and many other music retailers.
