Words And Music by The Dave Paris Group

A little while back I did a review on an album called Jury of My Peers by Cedar Rapids, Iowa guitarist Dave Paris.   His style reminded me of the great guitarists Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, and many other great guitarists I have enjoyed in the past.  After communicating with him about the review he told me about a release he did back on October 9, 2010, called Words and Music and by The Dave Paris Group which also features bassist/vocalist Barbe Paris and drummer Robert Yoder along with Dave on guitars.  Listening to this album it has a hard rock/metal sound with such tracks as Shoes, On My Worst Day, Hyper/Space, Greater Than Angels and a couple more.  I enjoyed this album from start to finish with heavy guitar riffs and powerful vocals.  This album was well written, produced, performed and recorded.  You can find this album from  Itunes, Amazon, CD Baby and other outlets and find out more about this artist at http://www.daveparis.com

The King Of Endicott by Gary Wilson

The King Of Endicott is the February 8, 2019 album by the legend of weirdo bedroom rock Gary Wilson on the Cleopatra Records label.  This experimental musician/performance artist goes back to his roots on his latest release which is named after the town that he grew up Endicott, New York.  This is Gary’s twelfth studio album and has a totally different sound than what I have heard before from any artist.  I describe this album to be a mixture of jazzy, electro-funk sound being true to his wacky self, pressing the boundaries of indie music and influencing artists in all genres with such tracks as The Town Of A Thousand Lights, Walking In The Rain Tonight, the title track The King Of Endicott, I Don’t Want To Be Alone, May Walked Away and much more.  This album was well written, recorded, produced and performed and is available for purchase on CD and digital download from Amazon, Itunes, Bandcamp, Cleopatra Records, and other outlets.  You can learn more about this artist at https://garywilsonmusic.bandcamp.com

Moments by Linda Marks

Balancing Act EP2: Your Honor by Zak Sloan

The Gemini Construct by Richard J. Baysinger

Last night I heard the debut of the album The Gemini Construct by multi-instrumentalist Richard J. Baysinger on the W.T.A.U. Pea Ridge Nation Live radio show where it was played in its entirety.  After listening to this great album I decided to go to Bandcamp and listen to this February 21, 2019 album at my leisure.  This is my second review for this amazing artist as a solo artist and reviewed two of his albums with his band Viggenblot so when it was time to review this album I was familiar with his great songwriting and awesome guitar work on such tracks as The Bone Orchard, The Cry Of The T-Bird, A Few Seconds To Spare, Midnight Coffee, Crazy For That One Moment and so much more. He is also joined by Jim Constantopoulos on bass on several tracks.   I also enjoyed the bonus tracks The Ballad Of Mr. Gray and Moon Over Painted Rock that was played on the radio show.  I was quite impressed with this performance from start to finish as well as how well this album was recorded. Facemelter by Y&T

Facemelter is the twelfth studio album by American hard rock/heavy metal band Y&T, which was released on May 21, 2010, through the Frontiers Records label. It is their first album since the release of Endangered Species in 1997, the longest gap to date between two Y&T studio albums and is the final Y&T album to feature bassist Phil Kennemore, who died of cancer the following year and first album to feature guitarist John Nymann.  The lineup on this album includes Dave Meniketti on lead vocals and lead guitar, John Nymann on guitar and backing vocals, Phil Kennemore on bass, and Mike Vaderhule on drums.  This thirteen track album features powerful vocals, heavy guitar riffs and driving drum beats on such tracks as On With The Show, Wild Child, I’m Coming Home, Hot Shot, Blind Patriot and much more.  I enjoyed the entire album from start to finish, am totally hooked on this band, and was very impressed with how well this album was written, recorded, performed and produced.  I want to thank John Nymann for turning me on to this album since I had already reviewed his solo work.  I highly recommend that you add this amazing album to your rock library and purchase it from Amazon, Itunes, their website and other outlets where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.  To find out where they will be performing near you and how to get their music, merchandise etc go to https://www.yandtrocks.com

Ape Shifter II by Ape Shifter

On Friday, March 29, 2019, Ape Shifter release their follow-up album to their debut with their sophomore release Ape Shifter II on the Brainstorm Records label.  From rockin’ 70’s riffs played with punk rock ferocity to creeping metal grooves and all-out bashers, Ape Shifter give new meaning to intense simian instrumental rock from the nasty pits of the Hellabrunn Zoo.  This German band features Jeff Aug on guitar, Florian Walter on bass and Kurty Münch on drums.  This thirteen track album with hard guitar instrumentals features such tracks as Gravity, Haskett, American Eagle, Jiggy Jiggy Boom Boom, and much more.  I enjoyed this album from start to finish and was impressed with how well this album was written, recorded and performed.  This album will be available on March 29^th from Bandcamp and other outlets where CD’s, Vinyl and digital downloads are sold.

It’s All About The Love by Robert Bidney

It’s All About The Love is the October 17, 2015 debut album by Florida singer/songwriter Robert Bidney.  The line up on this album is Robert Bidney on lead vocals, acoustic guitar, and piano, Fernando Perdomo (who I have reviewed several of his albums) on drums, bass, guitars, keyboards and percussion, and Alex Schecter on horns.  This nine track album of original songs written by Robert Bidney features such tracks as the title track It’s All About The Love, Love To Share, Love Me Now, Take Away Your Love, and much more. Demoed In Detroit 1997-98 by Sponge

Demoed In Detroit 1997-98 is the January 29, 2019 album by Sponge, an American alternative rock band from Detroit, Michigan and released on the Cleopatra Records label.  This band formed in 1991 went through several changes throughout the years.  The lineup on this album consists of Vinnie Dombroski on vocals, Joey Mazzola and Mike Cross on guitars,  Tim Cross on bass and Charlie Glover on drums. This collection is a never-before-released set of studio recordings taped in Detroit following the band’s blockbuster sophomore album Wax Ecstatic!  For reasons known only to the band, these recordings were shelved and a new set of recordings were produced for Sponge’s 1999 album New Pop Sunday.
