Transient by Levi Gangi

Transient is a solo piano release by Levi Gangi which includes nine original and three cover arrangements which are recorded in 2017 at the Red Booth Studios in Rochester, New York and released December 5, 2017.  Levi who also leads an original folk/Americana band named The Lonely Ones shows the great work at the piano as seen in such soothing tracks as Oh! Montana, the title track Transient, The Way Home, Alinda’s Song and so much more.  I am very impressed with how well this album was written, performed, recorded and produced.  I highly recommend this album for your relaxing pleasure.

Wicked Town by Joe Mystery

Wicked Town is the April 2013 released by New Jersey native Joe Mystery.  I was very impressed with this interesting mixture of blues, rock, and roots with such great tracks as Brando, Love Me Like A Locus, the title track Wicked Town, Rancho Love and much more.  In addition to the great guitar riffs and awesome voice, I was impressed with how well this album was written (all tracks were written by Joe Mystery), performed, recorded and produced.  You must add this album to your blues collection. Jazzin’ On The Blues by Kim Simmonds

Jazzin’ On The Blues is guitarist Kim Simmonds fifth solo album released August 4, 2017, on the Panache Records label. Fogs Of August by Alan Ross

Alan Ross celebrates his 49^th year in the music business on July 18, 2014, with the release of a sixth album called Fogs Of August, his second Celtic CD and his first in ten years.  This album shows a mixture of Celtic, Country and Folk styles as shown in such tracks as Verily, Lament For J.C., Highlander Girl and much more as well as a New Years Eve favorite Auld Lang Syne.  I first heard Alan’s amazing voice on Studio23Nashville hosted by my good friend Bryan Cumming and was amazed by his amazing voice and his songwriting talents. Total Information Awareness by National Security Band

For my 697th review, I am proud to announce a great album that was released November 3, 2017, by Dallas based National Security Band called Total Information Awareness.  Andy and Greg have the sound of such great artists as Jimi Hendrix and other great rock artists of the 60’s as found in such tracks as The Watchers, Fire, Drone And The Machines, Invasion, End Tidal and so much more.  I am impressed with how well this album was written, performed, recorded and produced. No Mercy by Karney

The New Victorians by Victims Of The New Math

The Captain & The Outlaw by Dakota

I usually don’t get any vinyl to review, so when the vinyl copy of The Captain & The Outlaw by the country group Dakota came in the mail, I knew I need to put this on my turntable and check it out.  This great band featuring Hank Cramer who I have reviewed some of his solo releases, Bill Paschall (pedal steel, mandolin) and Robert Thran (lead guitar, bass, vocals). was released on the Front Range Records label in 1982.  This hard to find vinyl release features such great tracks as the title track The Captain & The Outlaw, Josie, Greenback Dollar, Louisiana Saturday Night, Melissa Blue and so much more. This album was well written, performed, recorded and produced.  If you can find a copy of this album somewhere, you will be glad to own it.
