For my 1665th review, I am proud to present the album Right On Cue the March 30, 2012 album and my third review for Al Wood And The Woodsmen featuring Al Wood on harmonica and vocals, Lindsay Pugh on electric and acoustic guitars, Bass and Dobro, Simon Meilleur on drums and Marty Sobb on electric guitar and organ. It is not very often that I find an album that I could not find a favorite track since I loved the whole album with such great tracks as the title song Right On Cue, Homebound Blues Again, Vicious Cycle Blues, Bitter Pill and much more. I was quite impressed with the performance on this album as well as Al Wood & Lindsay Pugh’s songwriting talent, plus a superb recording and producing. This album shows the growth of this artist, his performances and his songwriting since his October 3, 2008 album Mood Swingin’ Blues. This is definitely an album you will want to add to your blues library. You can pick up your copy of this album on CD and digital download from Amazon, Apple Music, and many other music outlets as well as from their official website https://www.alwoodblues.com/ where you can learn more about this band, their music, and their tour schedule once this coronavirus situation is over. In closing, I want to thank Al Wood for sending me his CDs and giving me the honor of the opportunity to listen to him and looking forward to his future releases.

Back in August of 2017, we saw an ad for a CD free for the cost of postage, so I ordered the CD Ten Cent Tour by the band The Empty Pockets. I was impressed with the sound of it that I decided to write a review on the album. Moving forward over two and a half years later, I received package in the mail today with two CDs, a nice t-shirt and the signed vinyl copy of the album Voices with a nice note that said “Thanks for such a nice review of our album Ten Cent Tour, It means a lot to us” signed The Empty Pockets. I also received a message from Josh Solomon thanking me for the 2017 review and that he and Erika Brett first saw the review a few days ago. I am glad they finally got the chance to read and like the review. Voices is the September 1, 2017 album by the Empty Pockets which features Josh Solomon, Erika Brett, Nate Bellon, and Danny Rosenthal on the MT Pockets Records label which features vocals of energetic pop-leaning country Americana, with careful and bright vocal harmonies on such songs on this ten-track album such as Voices In My Head, I Am Strong, The Bubble, Need To Know and so much more. I was quite moved by their performance, their songwriting skills, and how this album was recorded. If you have not had the chance to hear this amazing band yet, please give them a listen, you will not regret it. This great album is available as a digital download from Amazon, Itunes, and all other music retailers. 5 Years of Modern Funk is a collection of some amazing artists that have performed since the 2014 launch of Austin Boogie Crew Records that is scheduled to be released on March 28, 2020. This 21 track album is on a CD that looks like a 45 rpm record took me back to the days when I used to DJ in many clubs. This is a CD that I enjoyed from start to finish with such tracks as Goodies by Diamond Ortiz, Reesis by Solar Shield, Finest Girl (Featuring Sally Green) by Rojai, Love Don’t Pay The Bills (Featuring E. Live) by Trailer Limon, Do It 4U by Starship Connection, Enjoyable Sunburn by XL Middleton, Feel Right 2Nite by Computa Games and a whole lot more. I was quite moved by the performances on this album, so much I wish I had this one when I was working as a Disc Jockey in many clubs, and I know the audience would get excited with the material on this album. This release was well compiled and recorded. I highly recommend this album that enjoys the old Disco, Funk, and R&B sound. You can get your copy from Bandcamp and other music outlets. Over the years I have had the opportunity to listen, enjoy and review the work of Dennis Scott, producer and member of one of my favorite Beatles tribute bands The WannaBeatles. Now I got the opportunity to share with all of you his latest project Thank You, Mister Rogers – Music & Memories released October 25, 2019, on the Act IV Music label and is distributed by BFD Records via Sony/The Orchard Records. This album features the music Fred Rogers like you’ve never heard it before with songs that have been reimagined and newly recorded into a tapestry of popular musical styles. Much of the unique aspect of this album is the away in which the musical arrangements have been arranged and how each of the artists has put their own personal stamp on it. This great album begins with the track Won’t You Be My Neighbor recorded by the 60’s group The Cowsills, and continues with such tracks as Perfectly Beautiful Day by Micky Dolenz of The Monkees, Let’s Be Together Today by Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr. of the Fifth Dimension, When The Day Turns Into Night by Lee Greenwood and so much more. The album features performances also by Rita Wilson (wife of Tom Hanks who plays Fred Rogers in the motion picture), country star Kellie Pickler, Jon Secada, Tom Bergeron (host of Dancing With The Stars which I didn’t know he could sing and I was quite impressed) plus many other artists. This great album was well written (all songs by Fred Rogers), performed, recorded and produced. I highly recommend this album to your music library and is available on CD and digital download from Amazon, and many other music outlets. For my 1421st review, I am proud and honored to do my fourth review for by San Francisco based R&B artist Cornell C.C. Carter. This is an album that I loved from the first track to the last and is an artist I hope to see one day live in concert.
