Greening The Dark by Debra Cowan

Greening the Dark is the sixth and October 1, 2019 album by Debra Cowan from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts on the Muzzy House Music Records label.  This six-track EP with a mixture of folk, folk-rock, country, and Celtic sound features great vocals and instrumental backup on such tracks as Hills Of Greenmore, Anna Dixie, Scarecrow and more.  Her style reminds me of such artists I listened to growing up as Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, and others.  This EP was well written, recorded, performed and produced.  It will be quite interesting to hear her earlier work to see her growth as an artist.  You can find this EP on CD and digital download format from CD Baby, Bandcamp, and other music outlets.  You can also learn more about this artist, her music and her tour schedule by going to her website https://debracowan.com

Fogs Of August by Alan Ross

Alan Ross celebrates his 49th year in the music business on July 18, 2014, with the release of a sixth album called Fogs Of August, his second Celtic CD and his first in ten years.  This album shows a mixture of Celtic, Country and Folk styles as shown in such tracks as Verily, Lament For J.C., Highlander Girl and much more as well as a New Years Eve favorite Auld Lang Syne.  I first heard Alan’s amazing voice on Studio23Nashville hosted by my good friend Bryan Cumming and was amazed by his amazing voice and his songwriting talents. I also learned that Ross began his studio-singing career in New York in 1967, with a national TV spot for Binaca breath freshener, as well as a session singer he did commercials for such companies as Captain D’s Seafood Restaurants, Tennessee Pride Country Sausage, Burger King, Toyota, Pizza Hut and much more.  This album was well performed, recorded and produced.  This great album is available for purchase from Amazon, Itunes, CD Baby and everywhere else where CD’s and digital downloads are sold.
