Wooden Indian by The Handful

Wooden Indian is the third studio album by New York based rock band The Handful released in March 2011. I previously reviewed a 2015 release by this band and it is interesting to see how they sounded in the earlier days.  This band with lead vocals by Mark Duda caught my attention again with this album.  There were great vocals and heavy guitar riffs on this one. Notable songs on this fourteen track album are Walk Into The Light, Tucked Away, Let Me Bleed, Ashes, Ain’t No Way and others.  I am looking forward to listening and reviewing their first two albums Palmistry and Second Hand Smoke,  I recommend this album to anyone’s rock collection.  You can purchase this album on Amazon, Itunes, and CD Universe.

The album debuted at No. 1 on the Hot Country Albums Chart and the lead single Love Triangle has reached the top thirty on the Billboard country airplay chart.  Other singles of notice are Your Heart, Lonely Call, Diamonds, Praying for Rain and others.  This album also has a sound that could easily be a crossover to the Billboard Pop Charts.  This release was well performed, recorded, and produced.  Whether you are a fan of country or pop, you will want to add this album to your music library.

25 by Aaron Tippin

25 is the latest compilation by country superstar Aaron Tippin on the Nippit Records label.  This two CD collection contains his major hits over the past 25 years on disc one and new songs on disc two.  I have been a fan of his music since his first big hit You’ve Got To Stand For Something.  Among some of the big tracks on disc one are My Blue Angel, Working Man’s Ph.D, Honky Tonk Superman and much more.  Disc Two of the compilation contains new hits and covers of some great classics.  Among some of the cuts on disc two are Real People, Working Girl, I’m A Mechanic, and such classic covers as The Way You Look Tonight (originally recorded by Frank Sinatra), Keep Your Hands To Yourself (originally recorded by The Georgia Satellites) and Let’s Stay Together (originally recorded by Al Green).  Aaron’s voice is still as strong as it was twenty five years ago.  This album was well performed, recorded and produced. This is one album I wish I had on vinyl as I recommend this album to anyone that is either a country music fan or a fan of Aaron Tippin.
