The One is the twenty-third studio album by the English singer-songwriter Elton John, released on 22 June 1992 on the MCA Records label. This album features such great artists such as Pink Floyd’s guitarist David Gilmore on Understanding Women ,Eric Clapton singing duet on Runaway Train and Kiki Dee (who along with John had a duet with the song Don’t Go Breaking My Heart) singing background on When A Woman Doesn’t Want You, On Dark Street and Runaway Train. This album also includes a couple of my favorite songs, the title track The One and The Last Song which was used during a closing montage featuring people who had contracted AIDS at the end of the 1993 film And the Band Played On. All songs composed by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, except Runaway Train, co-written by Olle Romo. This album was very well performed, recorded and produced. I highly recommend this album to anyone’s Elton John collection.
