The Captain and Me is the third studio album by American rock band The Doobie Brothers, released in March 1973 on Warner Brothers Records. This album was released in what I call the Tom Johnston era as far as vocals. With Patrick Simmons, Tiran Porter, John Hartman, Michael Hossack and Jeffrey “Skunk” Baxter this the best Doobie Brother album ever released. This album was very well written, performed and recorded. This album produced two major hits Long Train Runnin’ and China Grove. There were other great tracks off this album such as South City Midnight Lady, Dark Eyed Cajun Woman, Without You and much more. I recommend this album to anyone’s record library.
